3 Left-backs That Tottenham Should Look To Sign: Featuring ‘The Next Ashley Cole’ And Two More Stars

Share

Tottenham have one of the youngest sides in the Premier League and the fact that Mauricio Pochettino believes in the kids is certainly a fresh outlook at the way a football club is run nowadays. The Argentine seems to play younger players day in and day out and that has led to many youngsters being given chances.

Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason, Tom Carroll and the list goes on and on, the number of youngsters are certainly giving Tottenham great options for the future. Danny Rose and Ben Davies are two left-backs who are fighting for a spot in the Tottenham team and there could be another one coming into the team as they have been linked with quite a few players.

We look at three left-backs that Tottenham can try to sign in the off season.

  1. Ben Chilwell

The young Leicester City defender has been linked with a move away from the Foxes for a long time. He hasn’t played many games for the first team this season as Claudio Ranieri does not want to mess around with his starting XI and that would be reason enough for the highly rated defender to move out.

Chilwell has been linked with Tottenham earlier and with Pochettino giving a chance to the kids, the English defender could well be the first signing at the start of next season.

2. Ricardo Rodriguez

He may not be the youngster player out there but at only 23-years-old, Ricardo Rodriguez has time to get better and he already is touted as one of the best players in the Bundesliga in his position. The Swiss international has been starring for Wolfsburg and he could be a big money signing for Spurs soon.

Alright signing him would not be easy for Spurs but the way they are playing and the way Pochettino has made a team that believes in themselves, who says Rodriguez won’t be tempted by the Tottenham project and star for the Premier League side next season.

3. Rico Henry

The 18-year-old from League One Walsall has also been linked with a move away from the club and to Tottenham. Henry has been called as the next Ashley Cole, for his footballing ability and not for his money requirements.

He has made 27 appearances in his young career for Walsall and even scored two goals this season. The left-back will move away from the League One side sooner or later and Tottenham do seem to be in the race for his signature.
