3 Crucial Games That Will Decide Arsenal’s Top 4 Spot Including A Tricky Game Against Chelsea At Emirates

Share

Arsenal have a really tricky tie away to Monaco in the UEFA Champions League and they need to play out of their skin to overturn a 3-1 deficit. The Gunners are having major injury concerns and with an FA Cup semi-final on the horizon as well, the games are coming thick and fast and Arsenal need to ensure they do not fade away like they have done on so many previous seasons.

Wenger

Getting into the Champions League for next season should be the minimum target for the Gunners and Arsene Wenger, who is a master of getting them to qualify for the Champions League will be looking to the run of fixtures to all but plan their next European adventure. To qualify for the top 4 Arsenal have 10 games left and are just 3 points ahead of 5th place Liverpool, here are the 3 games the Gunners need to win to all but guarantee another season of Champions League football.

Vs. Liverpool (Home)

The 2-2 draw at Anfield was a brilliant game of football, but Arsenal should have won it, they conceded a late goal against 10 man Liverpool. This time around they cannot be so complacent and would have to defeat their rivals for the top 4 spot to have any chance of making it through. Liverpool have been playing some brilliant football and are on a run. They don’t have any European games either, unlike Arsenal and this game should be very interesting in the race for the top 4.

Vs. Chelsea (Home)

A London derby is something that you can never predict and Arsenal have not had the best of times playing against Chelsea, but they need to be at their best if they are to make it into the top 4. Arsenal might not have the toughest of fixtures remaining but they are prone to implosion and would have to be at their best to not only keep Chelsea ta bay but try to defeat the London club, who themselves will be looking to win the Premier League and what better way than by nicking some points from the Gunners?

Vs. Man Utd (Away)

Another blockbuster clash with a top 4 rival. Arsenal might have defeated United in the FA Cup, but United will be hungry for revenge and not only that but for a place in the Champions League as well. United are 4th in the league just 1 point behind the Gunners and this game on 16th May, the penultimate weekend of the Premier League could decide the fate of both clubs and see which team goes into the Champions League and which ends up playing in the Europa League.
