2 Players Who Should Leave West Ham In The January Transfer Window

Share

After one of their most fruitful seasons in the Premier League, Slaven Bilic’s West Ham United have made a mediocre start to the current campaign. Their recent unbeaten run of four games was halted by an all confident Manchester United side and the manager will know that his team are a long way away from challenging even for the Europa League spot. Bilic has a decent squad at his disposal but injuries to key players has seen him struggle to settle into a constant starting XI this season. The manager is linked with a few players for a move in January and he might be looking to add some quality to the squad.

He had a great time in transfers past summer, as he brought some stellar names into the team, but unfortunately, almost every single player has failed to live up the billing. Be it the expectations or the ruggedness of the League, their players have been poor. So here we bring you two players, who should leave West Ham this month in order to retain their pride:

Simone Zaza:

Having moved to West Ham from Juventus on loan, the Italian international striker was expected to help West Ham in their journey in Europe. However, he has failed to have any kind of an impact whatsoever in the league this season and is yet to score a goal for the side. He was a regular starter for Bilic at the start of the season but with the lack of form, he has fallen down the pecking order below Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll. He is a decent player who knows his way to goal but he has not been able to adjust to the challenges of the Premier League. He has had a negative effect on the team at times and is not a player that Bilic trusts anymore. The manager would love to add a few players to the squad in January and that will leave Zaza with just one option of cutting his loan deal short in January. Spanish outfit Valencia have been extensively linked with the attacker, and if possible, the Juventus loanee should consider making a move to Spain.

Sofiane Feghouli:

One of the many players who move to the club in the summer and failed to have an impact, Feghouli has moved to the club on a free transfer from the La Liga but has not been able to settle into the side this season. He is a regular started for the Algerian side and at 26, needs regular playing time to get to his best. Slaven Bilic is not really happy with his returns as he is yet to have an impact in the final third for his side and he may not have a future at the club for a long time.

The manager does not seem to trust him, and with West Ham having enough quality and depth in their squad for a Europe-less season, Feghouli has no real place in the squad and could be sold in January. He is one of the 5 players who are linked with an exit and if Bilic has a replacement in mind, Feghouli has no future at West Ham.
