Though selling him was not as blatant a mistake as Lukaku’s, Chelsea should have valued his potential and should never have let him go. The 25-year old spent two years with the Blues making just 3 first-team appearances in the league. He spent one of those years on loan in the Bundesliga, before completing a permanent switch to Wolfsburg in 2014. He spent just a year at the Volkswagen Arena before moving back to England to join Manchester City. The playmaker now has 5 goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season and is one of the most effective players in the league. Surely, Antonio Conte would surely have loved to have De Bruyne at his disposal.
