Chelsea Transfer Mistakes: Selling These Two Players Was A Blunder In Recent Times

Chelsea Should Not Have Allowed These 2 Sales To Happen

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea had one of the most successful transfer windows at the start of the season with the manager being able to integrate most of his signings into the first team. The Blues have one of the strongest squads in the league at the moment, but not every transfer window has been a success at Stamford Bridge. While they have at times spent insane money on players who turned out to be flops, they have also let star players leave the club. Though they are not really missing any of those players, it is a mouth-watering prospect to imagine the current Chelsea side having those players in the ranks as well. Though the Blues might not admit, here are two-star players that they should not have sold in recent times.

Romelu Lukaku (Everton)

Arguably the biggest mistake Chelsea made was selling Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker joined Chelsea back in 2011 from Anderlecht but failed to find a place in the Chelsea first team. He made just 10 appearances in his 3 years at the club, spending a couple of them at West Brom and Everton, before finally sealing a permanent move to the Goodison Park in 2014. He was productive in each of his loan spells and has 49 goals in 101 appearances for the Merseyside outfit since 2014. He is now the top goal scorer in the Premier League with 21 goals to his name and is now linked with a move back to the Stamford Bridge. The increase in Romelu Lukaku’s value in a span of couple of years clearly indicates his growth.
