The Zlatan Show, Middlesbrough And Their Transfers – 5 Things To Look Forward To Whis Weekend Games

Share

Here in this article, we discuss few things to look forward to in the first game week. We will discuss about Leicester City, Tottenham, And much more.

The pre-season games are finally over, and now it’s the time for the big stage, the Premier League. Almost every single fan is waiting to see their team kicking off the new campaign with a bright start, and even the teams will be looking forward to set a positive tempo for the rest of the season. Well, it is fair to say that this term, the teams will have to train harder than ever because the competition in the league has reached its limit.

The league is no longer is fought between 4-5 clubs, now it is a competition where every single team is capable of giving your team a run for their money. Some top class manager with some top class players have arrived and therefore, the expectations from the fans have heightened to a sky level. Just like last year, where Leicester clinched the title, we might witness some extraordinary players performing out of their skins and this is what makes Premier League beautiful.

The League will officially kick off on 13th of August and the very first game will be played between the Champions Leicester City and the newly promoted side Hull City, followed by the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, the same day. A big clash on the very next day will be awaiting the spectators as Jurgen Klopp’s men will travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal.

This is no secret that the very first game will play a big-big role for all the teams, hence, we give you five things to look forward to this weekend’s Premier League encounters:

  1. Zlatan Show:

The man for the big occasions. The man, who has won it all. The 34-year-old, never aging Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has arrived at the Theatre of dreams with a lot of expectations, and every single spectator wants him replicate the same performance he gave with PSG. The big Swede made his mark in the United t-shirt without wasting any time, as he scored with an overhead kick on his debut, and soon after that, he scored the winning goal against Leicester City by overpowering Wes Morgan to clinch his first ever title of the club. Many footballing experts are putting their experiences over his move as some say that he might struggle in the League, while some are expecting him to play a great role in their title Pursuit. Well, unlike Ligue 1, he has many competitors in the Premier League for the golden boot, hence, we can assure that it won’t be a walk in the park for him in the toughest league in the world. Premier League demands more strength and it would be an interesting sight to see, how he adopt the game.

  1. Leicester City’s development:

The Foxes amazed every single footballing fan last term by winning the Premier League crown, but can they replicate the same form for the upcoming season? They nearly lost Jamie Vardy, but somehow the speedster decided to stay after a brief transfer saga, but a loss of N’Golo Kante will surely be observed in the midfield. Yes, they have bought Mendy, but can he really replicate what Kante did last season? Besides all of it, this would be an interesting sight to see, how Ranieri’s men will perform on the very first day of the league. The first stop for the Foxes is the KCOM Stadium, where they will be facing the all confident Hull City and this game will surely set a momentum for the team.

  1. Middlesbrough and their transfers:

Middlesbrough, the newly promoted side in the Premier League has grabbed a lot of attention lately only due to their transfer activities. The side so far has signed some big names, including the former Barcelona man Victor Valdes, Alvaro Negredo, Gaston Ramirez, Viktor Fischer, Antonio Barragan and more. As stated earlier, we cannot really expect instant results in the Premier League but with a lineup like this, the side is expected to do wonders (at least avoid relegation). The side will be welcoming Mark Hughes’ much improved Stoke City for their opening game and this surely will be a nail-biting encounter.

  1. A Tough start for Tottenham:

Mauricio Pochettino

The London club Tottenham Hotspur were unarguably one of the best sides last season, hence, a lot more is expected from them this term.  For the very first encounter, the Lilly-Whites will be travelling to the Goodison Park, where Ronald Koeman’s men will be waiting for them to make their lives miserable (obviously in the game).

“Tottenham have set the benchmark of what they can achieve and they should be going for the title this year,” the former Spurs midfielder Jenas told BBC Sport. “Every match at Everton is tough, but with a new manager even more so.”

Besides all of that, Tottenham’s new signing Victor Wanyama will be facing his former boss, and this surely will be a fascinating sight to see.

  1. Manchester City’s style of play:

The blue half of Manchester, Manchester City, were considered as one of the most lethal teams in terms of attack. The side is known for its direct brand of football and that is what makes them a pure threat for the opposition. Under their former manager, Manuel Pellegrini, the team was known to play a direct attacking football, but now with Pep Guardiola at the helm, a completely different style is expected. Pep is known for his possession game (Tiki-Taka), while the players City have are known for their attacking instinct. For the starters, they will be welcoming David Moyes’ side Sunderland on 13th of August and almost all the fans are eager to see their beloved Citizens adopting to Pep Guardiola’s style in the Premier League.
