Leicester City vs Fulham Report: Leicester City Match Report

Leicester City beat lowly Fulham in Brendan Rodgers’ second game in charge of the King Power Stadium club. They beat Scott Parker’s men by a rather comfortable 3-1 scoreline which downplays their dominance in this Saturday afternoon fixture.

The Foxes started this game on the front foot and it was clear right from the off that Fulham were always going to have a tough time at the King Power Stadium, given that new manager Brendan Rodgers had to impress the fans of his new club.

They were able to create half chances right from the opening knockings of the game and midfield loan prodigy Youri Tielemans looked extremely sharp whenever he got on the ball, more so than in any of his other games in a Foxes shirt.

All his effort and hard work was rewarded in the 21st minute when he opened the scoring for the Foxes. Calum Chambers was caught in possession in midfield and Wilfred Ndidi was quick to find a charging Jamie Vardy.

The Englishman was able to get into a face-off with Sergio Rico but he unselfishly put it on a place for the Belgian youngster who tapped in to score his first goal for Brendan Rodgers’ club. Even after this, Leicester did look the more threatening side.

Despite have a decent share of possession, Fulham were unable to create any real chances of meaning in the opening half as they struggled a carve this stubborn Leicester defence open despite having Tom Cairney and Aleksandar Mitrovic on the pitch.

They were unable to register a single shot in the opening 45 and Leicester’s dominance in the game was only getting greater as time went on. With the start of the 2nd half, it began to look like the Foxes would run away with this tie.

But out of absolutely nowhere, a goal for Fulham meant that the game was suddenly back in the balance. Floyd Ayite took the ball off young Ben Chilwell on the flank and charged into the box. His low shot hit Harry Maguire before nestling in the net to make it 1–1.

Leicester’s superiority was obvious though and their response was emphatic as well. They took 20 mins to find the go-ahead goal and what a good goal it was as well. James Maddison’s through ball was the stuff of dreams while Jamie Vardy’s composure in front of the goal shone through yet again.

Even after this, Leicester kept pushing and they even got a 3rd goal in the dying moments. A good play from the flank saw Harvey Barnes feed Vardy in the middle of the box yet again and as usual the Englishman’s shot gave the goalkeeper no chance and the Foxes beat Scott Parker’s Fulham side by a 3-1 scoreline.

Here’s how some ecstatic Leicester City fans reacted to this crucial home win:
