Would This Beast Striker Linked With Arsenal And Manchester United Be A Success In The Premier League?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic might have left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of this season but another star could be on his way out of the club. Edinson Cavani has been one striker who has constantly been linked with a move away from the French capital and Juventus seem to be linked with a move for the Uruguayan.

Surprisingly, many other clubs have also tried to sign the 29-year-old striker and the Premier League is not far behind in trying their hand in signing the forward. Cavani has been constantly linked with a move to Manchester United and who knows, that could actually happen at the start of next season.

It isn’t just Manchester United who have been looking for a star signing and Cavani is one of the best strikers in the world of football but as with any foreign import into the Premier League, can he survive in a league which is known for tough tackling and lighting fast play?

A true warrior on the field

Don’t let the fact that Cavani playing in France means he is not good enough for other leagues. The striker actually made his name in the tougher Serie A league where he scored goals galore for Napoli.

Cavani scored 103 goals in just 138 games, a truly remarkable feat considering that goal scoring in the Italian league is one of the toughest things to do regularly. It however was a bit of a surprise seeing him move to Paris after seven seasons in Italy.

Cavani though continued his goal scoring touch in Paris as well. The forward has scored 80 goals in 144 games, this even when having Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his side and with a lot of other attacking players to share the scoring burden.

Cavani is known for not only his lethal marksmanship but also his excellent movement. He is also known for his running and energy, and his heading ability is probably second to none in France at least, well behind Zlatan then.

He is a smart footballer, having South American roots does help a player learn and survive a bit more in the rough and tumble world of European football. Cavani would certainly cost any Premier League side a bomb if he does decide to cross the shores and play in England but it would be money well spent.

Having a history of scoring a goal every other game would make him a brilliant option for many clubs such as Arsenal or Manchester United but it does seem that he would be willing to make a move back to Serie A as he is suited to that playing style it seems. The 29-year-old certainly would be a hit in the Premier League if someone is willing to spend the cash needed but for now it seems that he isn’t coming to the Premier League any time soon.
