Would Signing This Premier League Duo On Loan Mean A Good Summer For Hull City?

Would Signing Isaac Success and Ahmed Musa Mean A Good Summer For Hull?

Hull City are reportedly chasing loan deals for Watford’s Isaac Success and Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa before deadline day, but we are all bound to analyze if their arrivals would complete a satisfactory summer for the Tigers?

The former Premier League champions Leicester seem keen to get rid of Nigerian Musa but despite this, he is better than being a mere filler at Championship level and he would be a great addition after all the transfer negativity having surrounded the club, especially in the early part of the summer.

Musa scored just 2 goals in 21 games when given his Premier League chance by the Foxes last season but his past record was way better. 23 goals in 60 league games for CSKA Moscow reads very well in the context of the English Championship and he is certainly someone who would worry most defences at this level. He’d be worth a shot for sure.

Isaac Success did manage 17 senior appearances for Watford last term after his move from Granada, scoring once, and could add some much-needed attacking impetus to the Tigers line-up for the remainder of the campaign.

Should he join the club, he would follow the likes of Kevin Stewart, Ondrej Mazuch, Seb Larsson, Fraizer Campbell, Michael Hector and Ola Aina to the KCOM Stadium in what has been a very busy summer at the club. Frankly though, they cannot compare to the players who have left.

Ahmed Musa

Sam Clucas and Harry Maguire have gone off to the Premier League and have commanded big fees, while Andy Robertson’s move to Liverpool is a steal I think. You could argue that those three players would have always found Premier League opportunities after Hull’s relegation and these guys deserve them. However, a few other defectors are rather different.

Tom Huddlestone stayed in this division, joining Derby County and commenting that things were not all right behind the scenes at Hull. He said they did not do enough to keep him at the club and went to join Curtis Davies at Pride Park who had already decided to leave East Yorkshire.

Ahmed Elmohamady is another one who has stayed in the Championship, linking up with old boss Steve Bruce at Aston Villa and so once more, the case could be made that he could have been convinced to stay.

Finally, it seems like former club superstar Robert Snodgrass may become a Championship player soon. Yet, Hull are not in the running to sign him. That really is the final insult and it shows that the Tigers have fallen dramatically in the space of one transfer window. It has not been a good summer and it will not be a good one even if they sign Success and Musa.
