They’ve had a fantastic season and now with the summer window approaching quite rapidly, Wolverhampton Wanderers will have to make the right moves. That is what they did last summer and it has paid off in spades.
The likes of Diogo Jota, Raul Jimenez, Leander Dendoncker and Adama Traore have all done really well. However, repeating that feat is easier said than done and with the club on course to finish in a Europa League spot, it makes their job even worse.
To add enough players to help them survive not only in the Premier League but also in three tournaments, totalling to around 50 odd games in the season is tough.
Few clubs have managed to do that successfully and Wolverhampton Wanderers, given their past history can do exactly that. They’ve already started recruitment, with the Mirror reporting that they’ve marked interest in AC Milan striker Andre Silva.
The 23-year-old is contracted to AC Milan but is currently out on loan with Sevilla (Sky Sports), where he had a fantastic start to his career in Spain. He would go on to score seven in his first seven appearances before injuries put a halt to his form.
Since his return, the Portuguese has managed only four goals, which has played a part in Sevilla’s downfall. Despite that, Silva is still a world-class prospect and at 23, he has a lot of time on his hands. An out-and-out centre-forward, the former Porto man is an excellent poacher.
While he is not the biggest striker, or the most skilful or even the fastest, Silva makes up for it in other areas. His footballing intelligence is off the charts, and that makes him a brilliant fox-in-the-box.
He personifies the modern striker, someone who isn’t the best at one thing but instead is more of a jack-of-all-trades.
That combined with his intelligence and spatial awareness, makes Silva deadly in the box.
Add that to his work ethic and creativity, which is something similar to what Jimenez does for the club. Together, the two could wreak havoc in both the Premier League and the Europa League, especially playing in tandem.
Furthermore, Silva needs a new start and with AC Milan adding Krzysztof Piatek in January, they may be more than willing to let Silva go.

A move for Andre Silva would help the club move forward and the Portuguese striker needs a new start after a disastrous spell in Italy. That’s exactly what Wolves can provide him with and in return, the 23-year-old should reward them with more than a few goals.
