According to a report in the Daily Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to sign Benfica’s Ruben Dias.
Dias, at 22, is one of the most promising young centre-backs in Europe and was particularly notable for his performances in the Europa League and Nations League, which he went on to win with Portugal.
Dias has been linked with other clubs during the summer window and Wolves would be making quite a statement of intent if they are to get this deal over the line.
Dias will definitely improve the Wolves side immediately and should be a starter by all means if they get this deal over the line. It is no secret that Wolves are dominated by a strong Portuguese contingent that is led by manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
There are also the likes of Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Rui Patricio and Diogo Jota who are all Portuguese internationals and should help Dias settle into life at the Molineux fairly quickly.

Dias would very easily fit into this set up with his ability to defend 1 versus 1 situation and his skill with his feet. Dias is also very good at winning aerial duels and is, by all means, a complete defender.
Wolves are heading into quite a challenging season, with their season starting earlier than most other Premier League teams due to the Europa League qualifiers. If they are to qualify for it, they’ll have even more games to play and a lot of travelling to do.
