Wilder to make 1 important change – Predicted 3-5-2 Sheffield United lineup to face Burton

Predicted Sheffield United Lineup To Face Burton Albion In The EFL Championship

Sheffield United seem to basically either win or lose and we can’t say they haven’t entertained us this season in their quest for remarkable back-to-back promotions.

The Blades, after a win at Reading which put them back in the top six, have a chance to further cement their playoff place with a home game against a lowly Burton Albion, though they do have some players missing.

Goalkeeper Jamal Blackman and top scorer Leon Clarke were both withdrawn early on at Reading and may miss out here. They join long-term absentees Kieron Freeman and David Brooks on the sidelines.

There are obvious replacements for both players, with Moore and Donaldson bound to come in from the start this time in what should be a line-up made up of the following personnel in Chris Wilder’s usual 3-5-2 formation:

Probable Sheffield United XI

GK – Simon Moore

Played plenty of games earlier in the season when covering for an injured Blackman and he needs to repeat the trick now.

CB – Chris Basham

The familiar back three should be seen in action at Bramall Lane at the weekend and that very much includes Basham.

CB – Richard Stearman

Named appropriately, Stearman will hopefully guide his back three to a clean sheet.

Enda Stevens

CB – Jack O’Connell

Yet another solid but unspectacular member of what is truly a team.

RWB – George Baldock

Nobody should knowingly neglect their defensive duties, but the wing-backs this time need to be on the attack and not let Burton off the hook.

LWB – Enda Stevens

As with Baldock, Stevens needs to stay on the front foot here and keep the Burton right-back in his own half.

CM – Lee Evans

These three played together in their win the other night and will likely do so again.

CM – Mark Duffy

Reintroduced at the Madejski and straight on the scoresheet, another goal here would be vital.

Billy Sharp

CM – John Fleck

Comfortable in this division but more goals from him right now could get the Blades over the line.

ST – Billy Sharp

Another veteran striker, Sharp scored twice last time out and will be the main outlet here. With club legend status, he carries a bit of a burden but handles it very well.

ST – Clayton Donaldson

The former Birmingham City man went through a bit of a purple patch earlier in the season, scoring 5 times, though just one goal here may be enough to contribute to a handy home win.
