Wilder to make 1 change – Predicted 3-5-2 Sheffield United lineup to face Reading

Predicted Sheffield United Lineup To Face Reading In EFL Championship

Sheffield United’s form has been patchy to say the least but they are still in with a chance of a remarkable top six finish this season and need to keep going.

The Blades travel to Reading on Tuesday, where a high scoring affair could be on the cards, looking to make up for a disappointing showing and result when losing 1-0 to a struggling Hull City on the road last time out.

Mark Duffy and Billy Sharp are likely to start for Chris Wilder in his usual 3-5-2 formation:

Probable Sheffield United XI

GK – Jamal Blackman

Back in the side now following an injury, the young ‘keeper can continue his progression through the football ranks.

CB – Chris Basham

Withdrawn late on at the KC in favour of a more attacking option but should start once more on the right of the back three.

CB – Richard Stearman

The focal point of the Blades defence and he’ll be trusted from the start once more to marshal his back line successfully.

Jamal Blackman

CB – Jack O’Connell

The Merseysider and former Brentford man brings good balance to the back three since he’s left-sided.

RWB – George Baldock

A regular member of what is a settled squad, though it’s also one which you could argue has tired as the season has gone on.

LWB – Enda Stevens

The ex-Portsmouth man gets forward well down the left and will need to put in a big performance here at both ends of the pitch.

CM – Mark Duffy

Could be brought back in to freshen the side at the possible expense of Ryan Leonard, though the boss has options in the middle.

CM – Lee Evans

A solid midfield performance here could be the platform for a huge away win and Evans can be crucial in that, sitting right in the middle of the three.

Leon Clarke

CM – John Fleck

Fleck is the type of player who could knock in five or six from midfield between now and the end of the season in theory and if he did, that alone would drag United up the league.

ST – Billy Sharp

There’s competition in the squad but the veteran striker still commands a place and should partner top scorer Clarke up front.

ST – Leon Clarke

Where would the Blades have been without his prowess this term? The 33-year-old has crossed the 15-goal mark at this level for the very first time in his career and remains in the form of his life.
