Predicted Sheffield United Line-up To Face Preston North End In The EFL Championship

Unfortunately for Sheffield United, it is looking increasingly unlikely that they will make it to the playoffs this season but it has been a fantastic year for them and they will be really hoping to build on this come next season.

They come up against a Preston team who look like they may also fall a little short of the playoffs. Both teams will want to finish on a high and take their form into next season.

Probable Sheffield United XI

Manager: Chris Wilder

Formation: 3-5-1-1

Jamal Blackman (GK)

The young goalkeeper has done excellently for Sheffield United this season and has been in good form since returning from his suspension.

Chris Basham (CB)

Basham was solid in his last game against Birmingham. He wom all of his aerial duels and tackled well. He will be looking to keep a couple of clean sheets before the end of the season.

Richard Stearman (CB)

The experienced centre-back didn’t look great in his previous game and will be looking to improve and keep Preston at bay.

Chris Basham

Jack O’Connell (CB)

O’Connell looked average against Birmingham and picked up a yellow card. Seemed solid enough but will be tested by the Preston attack.

Enda Stevens (LWB)

Stevens has had a decent enough season in that wing-back position for Sheffield. He has grabbed one goal and four assists.

George Baldock (RWB)

Baldock offers width to this Sheffield team but hasn’t provided enough for the Blades this term. Will be looking to finish the season strongly.

George Baldock

John Lundstram (CM)

Lundstram should start this game as a part of the 3-man central midfield and partner with Fleck and Evans.

John Fleck (CM)

Fleck did not have the best time out against Birmingham and will be looking to impose himself more strongly in this game.

Lee Evans (CM)

Got a great assist against Birmingham and adds an extra dimension to the midfield for the Blades.

Leon Clarke

Mark Duffy (AMC)

Duffy scored a good goal against Birmingham but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to win Sheffield the game. Will be hoping to get on the scoresheet again.

Leon Clarke (ST)

Was rested last time out but should be back to face Preston, which should give them more attacking threat up front after Donaldson misfired against Birmingham.
