Why Wolves should go all out to sign Dejan Kulusevski next summer

According to Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Birmingham Mail), Wolves are set to make a £13million bid for Atalanta’s highly-rated playmaker Dejan Kulusevski, who is currently on loan at Parma.

Dejan Kulusevski, 19, joined Atalanta’s youth system in 2016 from Swedish club Brommapojkarna. He made his Serie A debut on 20 January 2019, coming on as a substitute for Marten de Roon in a 5–0 away win against Frosinone. In all, the teenager managed just three appearances last season.

In 11 Serie A games, Kulusevski has scored two goals and supplied five assists, thriving at Parma under Roberto D’Aversa. Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves are ready to make a bid of £13million but Atalanta want closer to £23million for the Stockholm-born midfielder. (h/t Birmingham Mail)

That being said, Wolves must go all out in their pursuit of the 19-year-old in the summer of 2020.

Wolves are looking to establish themselves as a top-half Premier League club and have already shown their inclination towards investing on top talents from across Europe. They have shown ambition since getting promoted, with the Midlands club backing Nuno handsomely in the transfer market.

In Ruben Neves, Ruben Vinagre, Bruno Jordao, Pedro Neto, and Patrick Cutrone among some more, the Wanderers have a plethora of exciting young talents and a manager that has always promoted youth. Thus, a move for Dejan Kulusevski certainly makes sense for the Wanderers.

More Wolves News

Wolves have lacked creativity at times this season, with Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho blowing hot and cold. Kulusevski could solve that problem for Wolves and bring more dynamism to their attack.

The 19-year-old works hard off the ball, can link up play and possesses a killer pass in his locker. He has registered five assists for Parma this season.

With willing runners like Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota and Adama Traore a part of the Wolves attack, the Swede would thrive under Nuno.

Verdict

To solve Wolves’ creativity problems, Nuno should aim to bring in Kulusevski. The Stockholm-born star could add that much-needed cutting edge to the Wanderers attack, whilst further improving the club’s pool of young talents.
