Why This Paraguayan International Will Be An Excellent Signing For Tottenham

Tottenham seem to be running from pillar to post in search of another striker who can help out Harry Kane. The Premier League side have been linked with AZ’s Vincent Janssen and also with Saido Berahino but Tottenham could be looking to bring in a player that they know will not cost as much while also be willing to play when he is given a chance, since no striker coming to Tottenham would replace Kane.

Janssen and Berahino would like to be starters at a club, but a player, who does seem to fit the bill of being great off the bench, at least hopefully for Spurs, is Antonio Sanabria. The London club have been linked with a move for the former Barcelona B striker, who did pretty well at Sporting Gijon on loan last season.

Sanabria plays more or less in the same role as Kane and that would mean that he needs support from the rest of the squad whether he tries scoring or sets up other players in the side. The Paraguayan is only 20 at the moment and there is a lot of potential in him getting better but we have seem many prodigies fall towards a great descent after hitting the age of 20 and not doing well after a big money move.

The one good thing in Sanabria’s favour is the fact that Mauricio Pochettino is known for taking care of youngsters and aiding their growth into better players. Dele Alli, Harry Kane and even Danny Rose are prime examples of that and the likes of Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela are enough proof that even older players can get better under the Argentine manager.

Another thing that could work if Tottenham do sign Sanabria is the fact that he too is South American and Pochettino can ease him into the English way of things. At 20, Sanabria is known for his heading ability and his dribbling as well, something which surely is of use to Tottenham or any other Premier League side.

He wouldn’t be expensive either and certainly would be a great option to have off the bench or to change things when needed. Sanabria isn’t the greatest at holding the ball up though and that is an aspect of the game that Pochettino and the coaching staff at Tottenham would have to work on but he is a hardworking forward and that is the most important thing for any player today.

A bright prospect for the future, available for a snip of the cost of some of the other stars in the leagues around, Sanabria would make an excellent option for Tottenham and certainly someone who can grow and get better with time at White Hart Lane.
