Why This German Could Be A Better Option for Arsenal Than This Barcelona Star

Share

The big summer is coming up. In the last 2 seasons Arsenal has completely owned the transfer market by doing something that they weren’t known for. First signing Ozil and then Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal have proved that they are not going to waste time anymore and are willing to go after the big names.

A couple of other big names have been linked with them for a while, Marco Reus and Pedro from Dortmund and Barcelona might be in with a move to Arsenal but it can only be one player from the pair who can make it to London and we try and figure out just which player would be a better fit in the way Arsenal play.

Germany or Spain?

While Reus’ season has been hampered with a few injuries, it is no doubt that he is one of the best attackers in the world when he is fit, he has been incredible for Borussia Dortmund and even penned a new deal to keep him at the club longer, which means that any club trying to sign him would have to pay a lot of money.

Pedro on the other hand has had a rather quite season or two, especially since the time Pep left Barcelona and with the signing of first Neymar and then Luis Suarez, his form and goal scoring has gone down but he still is a brilliant player nonetheless.

Reus would not only be everyone’s choice at the moment but his stats also prove he is a great threat and a perfect match for Arsenal. He leads every stat when compared to Pedro, he creates 2.75 chances per game compared to 0.69 from Pedro this season per game. He even has more successful passes with 26.3 passes per game compared to 17.27 passes per game from Pedro.

Reus provides twice as many assists per game when compared to Pedro and even in goal scoring terms, he has scored twice as many goals as Pedro and seems to be getting better as the season goes by. The only issue that might hamper the signing might be the health of Reus. Reus has had a lot of injuries since the world cup and still might not be 100% fit. Another factor that might play is the fact that Reus did sign a new deal and if Arsenal wants to sign him they might have to pay a lot of money.

That should not be a problem for Arsenal and Reus would be the perfect candidate to push Arsenal into the next level.
