According to the Sun, Spanish giants Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey, who could be a free agent next summer. The Welshman is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium, with no offer on the table from the Arsenal hierarchy. Hence, he could leave North London if no new deal is agreed. The player is currently earning £110,000-a-week.
According to Metro, Liverpool are also running the race to sign the 27-year-old either on a free transfer next summer or in a cut-price deal in the winter. Therefore, we may see a battle between a Spanish and an English giant for the midfielder.
The current European champions are keen on the player to add a perfect foil for their Welsh star Gareth Bale. With the futures of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in doubt (as per Sun’s report), the Galacticos could look to sign Ramsey.
However, it won’t be perfect for the 27-year-old to join the current European champions. Here’s why:
With all due respect to Arsenal as a club, the demands and the pressure at Real Madrid is of a different level. One cannot that deny that fact, which is why they are serial winners of big competitions over a period of time. The domination they have had and are still having is something that cannot be matched easily.
For that very reason, the people who come to watch their team play at the Bernabeu are unforgiving to players who perform badly even in one game. This relentless nature rather forces the players to do their best every time they step onto the pitch.
Aaron Ramsey is a quality player without a shadow of a doubt, but moving to that kind of an environment and experience such a change to what he has witnessed at the Emirates can be a bridge too far to cover.
Therefore, from the player’s point of view, he/she may want to join the best club in the world and be successful. But as history suggests about Ramsey, it’d be wise for him to rather join Liverpool than Real Madrid.

This is not to explain that the Welshman is not good enough to perform at the Bernabeu. It is only because the aura of a club like Madrid can sometimes overwhelm a player.
