Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make any transfers this summer. The north London club have endured a dull transfer window and are yet to see any new additions arriving at the club so far. The Lilywhites work with a limited budget but Mauricio Pochettino has certainly excelled at tracking a few carefully scouted players before bringing them in.
One such player is Lucas Moura. The Brazilian was purchased earlier in January for a reported fee of around £25million. Despite arriving with immense potential, the Brazilian has failed to make an impact at the club.
Moura made the move to PSG in 2013, after impressing with Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo for two years. He made a total of 153 appearances for the French champions, scoring 34 goals in that time. Moura was a regular feature for the Ligue 1 outfit, often instrumental in their offensive setup.
However, at Tottenham, the player was mostly restricted to a bench role and he barely displayed any sort of threat when he came on as a substitute. The 25-year-old made a total of just 6 appearances in the Premier League last season, out of which 4 were off the bench. He was able to provide just 1 assist in that time as the likes of Son, Dele Alli and Lamela kept him on the sidelines.
But the Brazilian has been impressive for Spurs in their pre-season tour. Tottenham wrapped up a 4-1 win against Italian outfit Roma, with Moura getting on the scoresheet twice. The Brazilian scored a brace as the Lilywhites romped to victory against the Serie A team. It looks like Moura is finally starting to show the kind of form he so often produced with PSG.
There was a certain element of hunger to the Brazilian’s game. He was explosive throughout the whole match and played a crucial role in their win. Maybe all he needed was a fruitful pre-season preparation away from the limelight.

Pochettino must use this moment and turn Moura into a solid figure at the club ahead of the new season. Moura is a devastating player to come up against when in form, and he could be Spurs’ go-to man apart from Harry Kane.
