Why Pochettino? These 3 Tottenham Players Deserve More First Team Chances At White Hart Lane – Agreed?

Share

Tottenham Hotspur managed to put in a gritty performance to steal all three points from the Swans prior to the Watford drubbing at home and this keeps them firm at 2nd place in the points table, with just 7 games to go this season.

On the longer run though, the manager will not be happy with the performance of a number of players at the club this season and will be looking to off-load a couple of them in the summer to reduce the wage burden and free up some space for new signings. however, Pochettino should try and give a couple of players a chance to prove themselves at the Lane for another year. Here are three such players who deserve another season at the club.

Moussa Sissoko

Having joined Tottenham on deadline day from Newcastle, Sissoko was expected to help Spurs in the league and in Europe. But the French midfielder is yet to have an impact on the first team. In 19 appearances in the league this season, Sissoko has just 3 assists to his name and has been painfully out of form. He is a versatile player who can play in a number of positions and at 27 years of age, he is in the best part of his career. He has shown great potential previously and Pochettino should surely give him another chance at the club next season.

Vincent Janssen

Another summer buy for Tottenham who has failed to catch the imagination of the fans is Dutch striker Vincent Janssen. He moved to the club after being named the Eredivisie player of the year in the previous season but Janssen has shown none of that form in England. At just 22, it is understandable that he has struggled in the most competitive league in Europe. Though his return of just 5 goals and 4 assists in 33 games in all competitions this season is mediocre, he has great potential and Pochettino should stick with him for another season.

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou

Another deadline day signing for Pochettino at the start of the season, N’Koudou has just not been able to prove himself to the manager and is expected to be sent out on loan for the next season. At 22, he is young and is still learning the game. He would probably come good in the next few years. His return of just one assist in 14 games in all competitions is not too good but N‘Koudou is an exciting player who can make things happen. Pochettino should keep him at the club for another season as a backup for first team attackers. It is better for the winger to learn things at White Hart lane and improve than to fight for a place in the first team elsewhere.
