The Birmingham Live has reported that Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United are interested in a move for Aston Villa star Albert Adomah.
Currently contracted to Aston Villa, the 31-year-old’s contract does expire at the end of the season but there has been no contact over a new one, at least not from the Lions, with the Birmingham Live reporting that Adomah is keen on re-signing.
It now looks like Leeds United are keen on a move, as Bielsa looks to reinforce his side ahead of next season. At the moment, the Whites are in second place behind leaders Norwich City.
The slip was down to some unfortunate losses including defeats to Queens Park Rangers, Norwich City and Sheffield United.
If there is one area that the Peacocks need reinforcements, it’s in the wide positions. Jack Clarke has been downright superb this season but he is only 18 years old and Jack Harrison is on loan from Manchester City.
That leaves the club with only Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez, three players who the club cannot depend upon for too long. Hernandez is 33 years old and while he has flourished, he won’t be able to do that for too much longer.
That being said, it doesn’t mean that the club should make a move for Albert Adomah.
He is 31 years old and though he’s made 30 appearances in all competitions, he’s only managed to produce four goals. This includes his first goal of the season at the end of February, with his last assist coming in November 2018.
It showcases his decline over the last six months or so, with Adomah finishing last season with 15 goals and 7 assists, producing 14 goals the season before that. It’s been a remarkable decline.
This could be the reason why the club hasn’t offered the winger a new deal, and it’s one that Leeds United should pay attention to.

Leeds United need another winger, but it should not be Albert Adomah. He has clearly declined over the last few seasons. Instead, what the Whites really need is someone prolific, someone who can provide goals, assists and replace Pablo Hernandez.
