According to a report in Daily Mail, Premier League giants Chelsea are looking to settle the future of Michy Batshuayi when the transfer window reopens in a few days time. The Belgian is currently out on loan at Spanish club Valencia, his second short-term stay out of Stamford Bridge.
However, the Blues are eager to cut that loan deal short in an aim to secure a permanent departure for the out-of-favour striker. The Belgian has failed to impress Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri, leading to his moves away from the club. (Daily Mail)
As per the report (h/t HLN), Chelsea have offered the 25-year-old to one of the Premier League rivals, Crystal Palace. Big European clubs Monaco, AC Milan and AS Roma are interested in acquiring the Belgian in the upcoming transfer window.
However, here’s why Roy Hodgson’s men should do everything to bring the striker to Selhurst Park next month:
After beating champions Manchester City at the Etihad, Crystal Palace would have been on cloud nine and they should be. They scored three goals in that game and looked a threat from counter-attacks.
But the big picture is that the Eagles are lacking a presence up top. Wilfried Zaha played the number nine role against City, yet, we all know that he is at his best in the wide areas.
Christian Benteke is injured at the moment and will come back after the first week of January. But the scenario is such that the Belgian has shown that he isn’t good enough to be trusted for goals on a regular basis.
Hence, getting Batshuayi is a necessity for Palace. It is true that the 25-year-old hasn’t been able to score goals in the Premier League, however, he at least gets into good positions to have a chance of scoring. It is about time for him as well to come back to England and show what he is capable of.
Hodgson is a type of manager who brings the best out of players in pressure situations. And Batshuayi has plenty of talent hidden in him. Maybe the former England boss would get the best out of him and we’d see the Belgian banging in goals at Selhurst Park on a weekly basis.

Palace have scored 17 goals in 19 games. Those numbers need some hiking in the second part of this season.
