Why Aston Villa should beat others to sign Glen Kamara

According to a report in Scottish Sun, Aston Villa are one of the four clubs who are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara in the future transfer window/s.

Brighton, Burnley and Crystal Palace are the other three clubs who are keeping close tabs on the Gers midfielder, who is one of the regular starters in midfield for Steven Gerrard’s men. (h/t Scottish Sun)

Glen Kamara in action

Kamara arrived at the Ibrox back in the January window of 2019 from Dundee United for a deal that was worth only around £45,000 (h/t Daily Record).

Since then, he has impressed many around in the Scottish top-flight. So, it isn’t a surprise that as many as four Premier League clubs are keeping tabs or interested in signing him.

Here’s why Aston Villa should beat others in the race to sign the 24-year-old as soon as possible:

Kamara would add more substance to the Villa midfield

Glen Kamara is a central midfield player, who can either play the box-to-box role, or operate as a defensive midfielder. He can also play as one of the wide midfielders in a flat midfield formation.

In terms of his attributes, the Finland international is a good user of the ball in midfield. He has a good passing range, can burst past players with the ball with great dribbling skills and a good turn of pace.

Glen Kamara

He is a physically strong player on/off the ball and also reads the game well defensively to make tackles/interceptions. So, not only he can dictate the game on the ball, there is control in his game without possession.

Hence, it is easy to figure out that if Aston Villa manage to sign him, then they would have a player who could add more substance to their midfield in terms of quality on the ball and tenacity off it.
