Wenger’s Mind Games: Bayern Are Not The Best

Arsenal are about to face their most difficult opponent so far in the season as they host the defending European champions Bayern Munich tonight at Emirates.

Arsene Wenger believes that his boys can upset the odds to qualify for the next round. He also insisted that Bayern Munich are not the best side they faced ever.

Wenger said,

“I was most impressed by the Barcelona team at the peak, through the speed of their passing and the speed of their game, until now, in my life, it’s the best team I’ve played against. The first time we played them at the Emirates, the first half an hour was the best I’ve seen.”

“Last year Bayern won everything. Maybe in the style there is always room for improvement but if they just do the same achievements this -season they can say they have improved because it’s more difficult to do it again.”

“I think we are in much better mental shape than one year ago, It’s down to our defending. They have five or six players who can score any time. We were too nervous at the beginning of the game last year. We know that we face the favourites but we believe we can do it.”
