Predicted Arsenal Line-up To Face West Ham United In The Premier League

Arsenal will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, when they face off against David Moyes’ West Ham United, at the London Olympic Stadium, on Wednesday night.  

The Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton this past weekend following their 3-1 loss at the hands of Manchester United a week before, leaving them winless in their past two league games. Manager Arsene Wenger will be hoping to address that when his side take on the Hammers in the London derby. But, he will know it won’t be easy by any means, considering that the East Londoners beat champions Chelsea 1-0 over the weekend.

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey is set to miss out after he picked up an injury in the weekend encounter, while defender Shkodran Mustafi also remains a doubt. Santi Cazorla is a long-term absentee.  

Here’s how the Gunners might line up against the Hammers on Wednesday:

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Petr Cech (GK)

The Czech Republic shot-stopper is the undisputed No.1 for the Gunners and he will start between the sticks on Wednesday. 

Rob Holding (CB)

The youngster could be set for a recall to the side for a Premier League game since his last appearance against Swansea in October.  

Laurent Koscielny (CB)

The Frenchman hasn’t been all that good in the past couple of games and will need to step it up a notch if Arsenal are to register a win.  

Nacho Monreal (CB)

The Spaniard has become the modicum of consistency in the backline for the North Londoners. A definite starter against West Ham.  

Hector Bellerin (RWB)

The 22-year-old Spaniard is all set to make his 17th league appearance of the season. Yet to score or assist and will want to change that.  

Mohamed Elneny (CM)

With Ramsey an injury absentee, we could see Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny get the nod for Wednesday’s game.  

Francis Coquelin (CM)

The 26-year old could come into the starting XI in place of Granit Xhaka, to make only his second league start of the season. 

Sead Kolasinac (LWB)

The Bosnian bulldozer is a permanent fixture down the left-hand side for the Gunners. Will look to have a telling impact on the game.  

Jack Wilshere (LAM)

The 25-year old has been impressive each time he has taken the pitch in the Europa League. Might be in line for his first league start of the campaign.  

Mesut Ozil (RAM)

Mesut Ozil has been in sublime form of late and is giving his best despite the contract stand-off. Should start alongside Jack Wilshere, leaving Alexis Sanchez out of this XI.

Alexandre Lacazette (ST)

Spearheading the attack for Wenger’s side should be star striker Alexandre Lacazette. Has scored two in the last three games and will want to get on the scoresheet again on Wednesday.
