Predicted Arsenal Lineup To Face Ostersunds FK In Europa League

Arsenal host Sweden based side Ostersunds FK to complete their round of 32 fixture, having taken a healthy lead in the first leg, winning the game 3-0. They rode on goals from the magical Mesut Özil and Nacho Monreal. It is almost certain that the Gunners will miss out on Champions League action again if the domestic qualification processes are considered.

The only way to keep their hopes alive of making it to CL is by winning the Europa League, which implies they cannot afford to drop points. However, with the League Cup final set to happen after this game, Wenger might consider fielding a changed side and rest the big guns. They will be keen on freshening up their recent form, which includes three wins and two defeats.

Team News

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is cup-tied and is unavailable. Alexandre Lacazette is ruled out due to a knee injury whereas Santi Cazorla remains the long-term absentee.

Youngsters Matt Macey, Josh Da Silva and Edward Nketiah are all expected to be included in the Match Day squad.

Probable Arsenal XI

Arsené Wenger should go ahead with his usual 4-2-3-1 set up and look to include some youth players along with the experienced ones in order to maintain the balance and be prepared for the League Cup final on Sunday. The same free-flowing, easy on the eye quality of football is expected to repeat when the Swedish club visits the Emirates.

Manager: Arsené Wenger

Formation: 4-2-3-1

GK: David Ospina

Ospina should start in goal. He has stepped up and been an excellent shot-stopper whenever required.

RB: Hector Bellerin

Bellerin should retain his spot and play at right-back. His pace and ability to get into crossing positions can cause serious damage to the opposition.

CB: Calum Chambers

Chambers was solid and alert in the previous game and is mostly going to retain his place in the heart of the defence.

Calum Chambers

CB: Rob Holding

Holding could replace Mustafi in central defence as Wenger might be looking to rest the German.

LB: Sead Kolasinac

The strong, pacy and sharp Kolasinac should play at left-back. Although he is a beast going forward, he has a reputation of building from the back.

CDM: Ainsley Maitland-Niles

The youngster’s services have been praiseworthy, every time he has stepped out for Arsenal. He should play in the holding midfield role.

CM: Mohamed Elneny

Elneny calms the play around and passes accurately. His pace while falling back is alright too.

RW: Reiss Nelson

The youngster should play on the right-wing. He is versatile, explosive and is talented.

Mesut Ozil

CAM: Mesut Özil

Özil should start this game despite the weekend fixture against Manchester City. He will roll his sleeves up and carry the team forward with his creative play.

LW: Alex Iwobi

Iwobi adds a cutting-edge, runs at defenders and is the most direct player in this lineup. He should play on the left flank.

ST: Danny Welbeck

Welbeck is a sure starter, given the lack of options up front. The duty will be on his shoulders to provide the goals.
