The Cherries are going to need to make additional signings in the attack if are to come back stronger next season and making a new signing is just what they have done.

Bournemouth have completed a deal for Sheffield United midfielder David Brooks for a reported fee of around £11.5million. The 20-year-old Welsh international has agreed to join the club on a four-year contract, which will keep him at the vitality stadium until 2022.

The youngster is technically very good, has immense potential and fits Bournemouth’s style of play. Brooks generally operates as an attacking midfielder but is also capable of playing a box-to-box role if required.

Brooks represented England at under-20 level but switched allegiances to Wales, as it was his mother’s origin. The midfielder won the first of his three senior caps in a friendly fixture against France last November.

The attacking midfielder made a total of 21 appearances in the Championship last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists in that time. His efforts helped Sheffield United to 10th place in the league.

David Brooks

The 20-year-old is good with the ball at his feet and possesses impressive close control. He is also a neat passer of the ball, averaging a pass success rate of 79.2% in the Championship last season. He is also excellent at taking set-pieces and could be the Cherries’ new number one for set-pieces

The youngster is very good at drawing fouls, which will give Bournemouth plenty of options in front of goal. Brooks’ pace and ability on the ball make it very hard for defenders to stop him and the only way is to get him down.
