According to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato, Watford are considering a summer move for Bournemouth forward Joshua King. The Norwegian has scored 11 goals for the Cherries so far this season and his performances have caught the attention of Javi Gracia.
Watford’s captain fantastic Troy Deeney will turn 31 in the summer and despite his quality for the Hornets over the years, the club needs to look at the future. Andy Gray has been in and out of Gracia’s side this campaign, having started just 9 games in the Premier League.
Watford will be in need of a striker this summer and a move for Bournemouth’s hitman makes a lot of sense for multiple reasons. King along with Callum Wilson is Bournemouth’s top-scorer this season and has been hugely important for the Cherries in Wilson’s absence.
King, at 27 years of age, is at the peak of his game and would be a smart option for Watford, whose system would be a perfect fit for the Norwegian. King would open up a ton of options for Javi Gracia, thanks to his ability to play alone or with someone like Deeney or Gray next to him.
The Bournemouth man is a complete striker with the ability to score with either foot from outside and inside the box. His quick feet and dribbling skills help him get away from his marker and create a yard of space for himself before having a pop at goal or passing it to a fellow teammate.
One of King’s most important traits is his intelligent runs off the ball. His ability to play on the shoulder of the last defender and get away from them with his pace makes him an extremely dangerous player, especially against teams who play with a high defensive line.
The Norwegian’s composure in front of goal is highly commendable and playing with the likes of Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra, he can be a real asset to the Hornets side.
In his 27 starts this season, King averages 2.1 shots on goal, 1.1 key passes and 1.9 successful dribbles per game so far in the Premier League. Despite playing regularly on the shoulder of the last defender, King is rarely ever caught offside, averaging just 0.3 per game this season. (WhoScored)

Signing Josh King from Bournemouth has the potential to be one of the best pieces of business Watford have done in recent times.
The 27-year-old would prove to be a massive asset at Javi Gracia’s disposal and his versatility will allow the Watford boss to change his formations without much thought.
