Walker And Lloris The Bright Spots – Best And The Worst Rated Tottenham Players vs Manchester United

Share

Mauricio Pochettino’s side arrived at Old Trafford desperately needing the 3 points during this Sunday’s matchup, but an early goal from Henrikh Mkhitaryan sent them back empty handed after a very difficult and exciting game.

The Spurs had a pretty good performance overall, but it was another classic Jose Mourinho’s defensive display by the Red Devils, so they couldn’t get much going until the last stage of the matchup.

Hugo Lloris 7/10

The Frenchman had another outstanding performance, denying several chances from the home team. However, he couldn’t do much when his team was caught on disadvantage on a counter attack and conceded a goal to Mkhitaryan.

Kyle Walker 8/10

Walker did an amazing job on defence, completely shutting down both Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba while also being able to contribute on offence on a regular basis, showing he’s one of the best in the world right now in his position.

Toby Alderweireld 6/10.

The Belgian seemed kind of slow and he still lacks a bit of rhythm after losing several weeks with an injury. He could’ve done more to stop the Armenian on that counter attack.

Jan Vertonghen 7/10

Alderweireld’s compatriot didn’t have his best game of the season, but he still managed to shut down Zlatan Ibrahimovic with great ease.

Danny Rose 7/10

Rose had a pretty good performance once again, but he struggled to stop Mkhitaryan during the first passages of the game. However, he was a key factor on the Spurs offensive strives as he usually is.

Victor Wanyama 7/10

Wanyama had a very nice game on defence, but he totally missed what could’ve been the tying score, as he was let completely by himself on a free kick.

Moussa Dembele 5/10

It was an awful performance by Dembele. He never seemed comfortable playing against Ander Herrera. He lost several balls and was completely out of focus before being substituted.

Heung Min Son 5/10

Son’s only chance came just 5 minutes before being substituted, and he completely blew it away. The talented Asian was never able to find any kind of space, mainly thanks to Antonio Valencia’s great coverage.

Dele Alli 6/10

The talented lad spent most of the game either complaining or on the floor, as he was beaten by his own character one more time.

Christian Eriksen 7/10

Eriksen was the lone bright spot on Tottenham’s offence today, but he couldn’t find much room thanks to Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo’s outstanding performances, and he was never able to be comfortable on the pitch.

Harry Kane 6/10

The Citizen couldn’t get anything going at all, as Phil Jones’ coverage on him was really great. He did have a couple of shots, but was unable to find any kind of space and hurt David De Gea’s goal. He’ll bounce back, though.
