This Versatile Croatian Midfielder Could Turn Out To Be A Great Business For Chelsea If Signed In January

Share

There have been a lot of reports of dozens of guys linked with hundreds of teams over the past few weeks, and that only means one thing: the transfer window is just about to start and everybody’s losing their minds and working around the club to get a nice deal done.

Most of the English Premier League teams are currently looking to reinforce their already terrific squads, as the second half of the season is always difficult and some teams often fall short of the goal when it matters the most.

Obviously, a team that’s going to look to become even better is Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, as the Italian boss has turned the Blues around after a mediocre season developing into an almost unstoppable team just a couple of months after being hired.

And naturally, Conte’s looking for guys in the spots he knows, so several players from the Italian Serie A have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the Italian took the reins of the team, and today, we’ll discuss a deal that’s reportedly gaining more and more interest from both parties, as Internazionale is allegedly willing to make a deal from their young midfielder Marcelo Brozovic. So, should Chelsea actually make a move at him?

Marcelo Brozovic is a 24-year-old Croatian who arrived at the Giuseppe Meazza after a couple of years at Dinamo Zagreb, and the talented midfielder has also featured alongside Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic in the national team several times, becoming one of the most important players for that side as well.

Brozovic is a very talented guy that can play both as a midfielder or just behind the striker with a more than decent defensive game and a very developed offensive skill set, being an outstanding passer with a great free kick scoring ability, and also being able to send the ball to the bottom of the nets from long range.

Marcelo has been able to contribute in 6 goals so far this season, scoring 4 and assisting 2 despite not playing very close to the opposing box and playing for a team that’s having a terrible season and doesn’t’ seem able to get anything going on offence.

However, the talented Croatian hasn’t been featured a lot so far this season despite being one of the better players on a struggling Internazionale squad, so making a move outside of Italy would make a lot of sense, and coming to Chelsea would be ideal for him.

Even if Chelsea’s starting midfield is set right now with N’golo Kante playing out of his mind alongside a very reliable Nemanja Matic, there’s not much left behind them on the team’s bench, and Brozovic could be the first substitute to come and contribute for the blues.

On top of that, his versatility could help them fill many voids when they’re struggling to break the opposing side’s defence, and considering that Cesc Fabregas is most likely on his way out of the team, he could have all the playing opportunities that the Spaniard didn’t. So yes, moving to Chelsea would be a great deal for both parties.
