Manchester City will feel hard done by their draw on the weekend against Tottenham Hotspur after VAR ruled out a last-minute goal from Gabriel Jesus to deny them a win against Spurs for the second time in recent months.
However, City will continue being their usual selves and one of the reasons for that is the incredible depth that they have in every position.
One of those positions being in the goalkeeping department, with former Barcelona and Chile international Claudio Bravo standing in for current City number 1 Ederson. Bravo has only a year left on his contract and the Sun has reported that he’s likely to leave on a free transfer.
Bravo is a fantastic distributor, an excellent penalty stopper and can play as a sweeper and has loads of experience at 36-years old, which includes an incredible 119 international caps for his country, while being a captain.
Any Premier League club could do with a player like him and here are two clubs that could use his services:
Leicester City
Leicester City have been a very different unit under Brendan Rodgers with a lot of young players, who are looking to play from the back and rely heavily on keeping possession of the football to dictate play and beat a high-press. Leicester currently have Kasper Schmeichel, who is a good goalkeeper in his own right but isn’t as good at his distribution like Bravo.
Leicester have shown a lot of ambition in the last couple of years and will be hoping that they’ll be a side that can compete in more competitions and Bravo would kill two birds with one stone by doing so.
West Ham United
West Ham are also a side that’s looking to change their playing style and have a manager in Manuel Pellegrini, who has always favoured such a style and Bravo would easily fit in.
Lukasz Fabianski has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League over the last couple of seasons but his distribution isn’t his strongest suit and Bravo would add something different to their attack.
This would be a fantastic idea especially considering Sebastien Haller’s arrival, who was an outlet for Kevin Trapp during his time at Frankfurt to help in the build-up play.
Both these sides would become a lot stronger with Bravo’s arrival.
