Arsenal missed a glorious opportunity to take the lead early in the game against Bayern Munich last night, thanks to a weak shot from Mesut Ozil which was easily stopped by Manuel Neuer. From there it was one way traffic as the Germans settled into their rhythm and won the match comfortably with a 2-0 scoreline.
It was an eventful match to say the least. Having missed a penalty, Arsenal conceded one themselves as their keeper Wojciech Szczesny brought down Arjen Robben inside the penalty box and was shown a straight red. David Alaba who stepped up to take the penalty misfired giving the Gunners a second chance. However, the Bavarians dominated the entire second half and the likes of Lahm, Robben and Rafinha gave Monreal and Ozil a run for their money.
Having missed the penalty the German midfielder looked shy of confidence giving the chance for the media and fans to gang up on his recent mediocre perofmrces. Was Ozil the sole reason for Arsenal’s defeat yesterday?
Nonetheless, Tottenham fans took the chance to have a dig at their rivals as they tweeted about why Arsenal should have signed Soldado instead of Ozil.
Hahahahaha ozil he's even worse than soldado at least he can score a pen

Ozil that is really really pathetic and the second time I've seen you do it, better send Bobby Soldado down for some coaching!

Ozil needs to take tips off of Soldado

Atleast soldado can score penalties.
Actually ozil was trying to assist from the spot, not his fault.

Everyone giving Soldado stick because "he only scores penalties". Give me a break! Alaba & Ozil both miss, goal is a goal. He will come good
