Rangers News: Rangers have reportedly revived their interest in Motherwell midfielder Jake Hastie, reports The Sun.
The Scottish sensation was constantly linked with the Light Blues and was said to have agreed to terms with the club.
Later, the Gers dragged themselves away from the pursuit of Hastie, but Steven Gerrard seems very keen on bringing the midfielder to Ibrox next season.
The 20-year-old has been a revelation for the Wells this season, making a handy contribution in every game he has played.
He has bagged six goals and an assist this season, making him the Wells’ top scorer.
Furthermore, his performance caught the interest of a host of clubs, including their Old Firm rivals Celtic.
He made his debut for his nation’s U-21 side last month.
Gerrard is considering Hastie to be the successor of Liverpool-bound Ryan Kent. The English winger has been impressive for the Light Blues so far but his loan spell is due to end, later this season
Despite Kent’s interest to stay in Glasgow, Jurgen Klopp is desperate to have him back at Anfield next season, forcing a price tag of £10m for the Gers.
Instead, the Light Blues can benefit from the up-and-coming Scottish talent. He can play as a winger or an attacking midfielder. Hastie is also known for his pace, dribbling skills and set-piece abilities.
The Light Blues have already signed a pre-contract with Kilmarnock midfielder Jordan Jones, who will arrive at Ibrox next season.
Gerrard’s men will be playing Hearts in their next Premiership game.
