Celtic FC News: Celtic defender, Dedryck Boyata, has agreed a move to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin claims The Sun.
The Belgian centre-back’s contract is due to expire this season and the Bhoys have decided to not renew the deal.
The 28-year-old has been a significant player for the Celts since joining in 2015.
He has made over 100 appearances and been a regular under former manager Brendan Rodgers.
The former Manchester City player has earned 15 caps for his national side and played in all the group games in the FIFA World Cup last year.
Meanwhile, his injuries dented his performances this season, limiting him to fewer appearances.
Kristoffer Ajer and Mikael Lustig have formed a formidable defence, overshadowing Boyata.
Besides Boyata, Filip Benkovic is also expected to return to his parent club Leicester at the end of this season.
The Belgian centre-back also suffered a hamstring injury in the Old Firm derby last Sunday, which will rule him out for the remainder of the season.
Olympiakos, the Greek club, revived their interest in Boyata with an objective to sign him on a free-deal. (h/t Sportime)
But now, the centre-back has made up his mind and chosen Germany as his next destination.
The Bhoys are speculated to wrap up the season with another league title, this time under Neil Lennon, the caretaker manager.
