Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur had a few bad results in the last few games in the Premier League but they were back to winning ways last weekend as a hat-trick from Harry Kane gave them a 4-0 victory over Stoke City last weekend. They are currently 10 points off Chelsea at the top of the table and have very little chance of catching them but they will need to be consistent to consolidate a place in the top-4 at the end of the season. However, they face a tricky game this weekend as they welcome Ronald Koeman’s Everton who have been in decent form of late. The Toffees are fresh from a victory over Sunderland in their previous fixture and will hope to take at least a point from this game and Spurs should be at their best to take all three points.
The Lilly Whites saw their centre back pairing of Alderweireld and Vertonghen both walk away with injuries in the game against Stoke but Pochettino was positive on their situation, which might see them start this game. Full-back Danny Rose remains sidelined alongside Eric Lamela both of whom are still nursing their long-term injuries.
The French star is the first choice shot-stopper at the club and he is expected to keep his place between the sticks this weekend.
The English defender is integral to the plans of the club and will have to play a good game for Spurs to win this game comfortably.
Though picked up a knock in the previous game, Alderweireld is already back in training and Pochettino should bring him back into the first team straight away.
Vertonghen also limped off in the previous game but is expected to be back fit for this tie against Everton.
Ben Davies has been doing a decent job for Tottenham in the absence of Danny Rose and should start this game as well.
The first choice midfielder for Spurs, Wanyama was superb in the victory over Stoke and Pochettino will hope that he will have a similar game against the Toffees.
Dembele will have his task cut out against an in-form Idrissa Gueye during Everton’s trip to the capital city this weekend.
The Danish international has been in sizzling form of late and he will have to be at his best if Spurs are to take all three points from this game.
Having put in a wonderful performance against the Potters, Alli will be full of confidence and will hope to put in a decent performance against the Toffees as well.
The winger has not really been effective in the last few games for Spurs but he might just keep his place in the side for this game.
The hero of the previous match, Harry Kane has now scored 3 hat-tricks in the last 9 games and will be the danger man for Tottenham against Everton.
