Tottenham must surely go for this rising Championship star to provide strength to a key area

Why Tottenham should make a move for Max Aarons in the summer?

According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Norwich City starlet Max Aarons in the summer.

Max Aarons, 19, has been one of the revelations of the Championship this season and has consistently put in fantastic performances for Norwich City as Daniel Farke’s side push for promotion back to the top-flight.

Tottenham had scouts keeping tabs on the young right-back all season and were plotting a January swoop with the idea of sending him back to Carrow Road on loan for the rest of the season.

However, a deal never materialised but now Mauricio Pochettino appears to go all guns blazing in the summer transfer window for the Norwich kid, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.

Tottenham didn’t make a single addition in the past two transfer windows, yet they have gone on with their business this season and are just five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City. Pochettino is currently without two key stars in Harry Kane and Dele Alli but has managed to get the best out of the resources he has at his disposal.

That sums up Pochettino’s time in north London. Despite working on a paltry budget, he has managed to get the best out of players and has also nurtured young talents. And as it appears, the Argentine manager’s eyes are all set on one of the Championship’s brightest talents, Max Aarons.

Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier haven’t had the best of campaigns, with the latter having mostly struggled since arriving from PSG last year. Then there is the young Kyle Walker-Peters, who has played mostly in the cup competitions this season.

The addition of Aarons would surely signal the end of either one of the aforementioned right-backs’ time in north London.

Aarons began his career with Luton Town and then moved to Norwich City, where he has been since 2016. He only made his Norwich debut at the start of last season but has bulldozed his way to become a regular under Daniel Farke this term.

Max-Aarons

Since Spurs didn’t make any signings last month, chances are very good that Daniel Levy will allow Pochettino to make few additions to the squad in the summer.

However, it would be difficult to prise away Max Aarons from Norwich should they get promoted to the Premier League and given that the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal also in the hunt, Spurs will have to make such an offer which the Canaries simply cannot resist.

All in all, Norwich’s flying full-back would be a fantastic long-term investment for Spurs.
