Dembele And Son To Start – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Lineup To Face Swansea

Tottenham Predicted Lineup To Play Swansea

Tottenham Hotspur were just one of the two sides from the top-6 that managed to take maximum points at the weekend. They put in a solid performance at the Turf Moor to take all three points and kept the pressure up on Chelsea. They are now just 7 points off Chelsea and are fighting for the title. However, they should make sure that they continue their winning momentum when they travel to the Liberty this week.

Swansea played a 0-0 draw against Boro at home at the weekend and will hope for a similar result against Spurs. But Pochettino will know that his team have every chance to take all three points from this game.

Team News

Pochettino will still be without the likes of Harry Kane and Eric Lamela, both of who are nursing injuries. Danny Rose and Harry Winks are also ruled out of this game. Midfielder Victor Wanyama was subbed off at half-time against Burnley for picking up a knock and is a doubt for this tie while Vincent Janssen should be ready if needed.

With Victor Wanyama unavailable, Pochettino might go back to a 4-back formation to deal with the injury crisis that has hit his team of late.

Expected Lineup:

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

GK – Hugo Lloris

The French international is among the best in the business at the moment and should keep his place in the side for Spurs.

RB – Kyle Walker

The English full-back has been in explosive form this season and he should start this game in his usual position as it is not possible for Pochettino to play a 3-back formation with both Winks and Wanyama out injured.

CB – Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian did a superb job as a sweeper at the weekend and will lead the defensive line for the Lilywhites in this game.

CB – Jan Vertonghen

His partner in crime, Vertonghen also had a decent game against the Clarets and should complete the back line for Tottenham.

LB – Ben Davies

The replacement for the injured Rose, Davies has been superb in recent games for Tottenham at either end of the field and is expected to start this game.

CM – Mousa Dembele

The Belgian midfielder was an unused substitute in the previous game but is expected to be drafted back into the first team for this crunch tie.

CM – Eric Dier

One of the two goal scorers at the Turf Moor, Dier should retain his place in the team, but this time, it will be in central midfield alongside Dembele, as Wanyama is a doubt.

RW – Christian Eriksen

The Danish playmaker has not been productive in the last couple of games but he should keep his place on the wing for this game against the Swans.

CAM – Dele Alli

The English playmaker was all over the Burnley defence at the weekend and he will be the biggest threat to Paul Clement’s side this week.

LW – Son Heung-Min

After helping Tottenham to a comfortable victory by scoring at the weekend, Pochettino should keep Son in the XI.

ST – Vincent Janssen

The Dutchman is fit to start and he might start this game due to a change in the formation and the absence of Harry Kane.
