Every week of the Premier League brings with it a lot of action coupled with several highs and lows, making it an intensely high-octane period. Fans across the world remain glued to their screens as they follow the fortunes of their favourite teams and register either appreciation or frustration at the outcome of these matches. However, every week, there are certain players who excel and put in incredible performances to win the hearts of everybody watching.
Without Ederson in goal, Manchester City may have had to succumb to a draw against arch-rivals Manchester United. A true testament to his commitment was the moment when he almost broke his face but still stood and soldiered through.
Kieran Trippier (RB)
Not only was he defensively solid against Stoke City, Trippier also managed to make quite an amount of contribution while going forward.
Angelo Ogbonna (CB)
West Ham pulled off a stunning victory against defending champions Chelsea and the way Ogbonna kept the likes of Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard at bay, was truly delightful to watch.
Nicolas Otamendi (CB)
Responsible for scoring the winning goal in the fateful Manchester derby, Otamendi proved to an instrumental figure at the back for City.
Arthur Masuaku (LB)
Masuaku earned rave reviews for the way he battled against Chelsea to help the Hammers earn 3 points. He may not have always been strong for West Ham but if he continues this way, he can finish the season strongly.
Son Heung-Min (LCM)
The player continues to impress for Tottenham. The first goal was created by him and he also netted the second goal for them. That itself caps off a satisfactory day at work but he did not stop there and even orchestrated the 5th goal in Tottenham’s 5-1 win vs Stoke.
David Silva (CM)
Silva scored a goal against United but the main reason behind including him in this list is the way he contributed to the game throughout. He dominated the area completely while also offering defensive cover.
Marko Arnautovic (RCM)
The Hammers were desperate to see Arnautovic perform well and he delivered excellently against Chelsea by scoring the winning goal. If he manages to continue this form, David Moyes might just have an easier time.
Jermain Defoe (LW)
Bournemouth may have had to settle for a draw against Crystal Palace but Defoe’s brace was spectacular. People talk about slowing down at the age of 35 but Defoe only seems to get better.
Steve Mounie (RW)
Huddersfield beat Brighton and most of their good fortune in that game happened due to Mounie’s brilliance up front. He netted both goals of the game quite comfortably and sealed the team’s fate before half-time itself.
Harry Kane (CF)
When he is at his best, there are few strikers in the Premier League who can even come close to him. And the game against Stoke was a fine example of how devastating Kane can be when in form.
