Top 5 Under Rated Players In The Premier League Including Chelsea & Newcastle Stars

Share

The Premier League is like a box of jewels that a king keeps on display for the other kings to feel jealous about. The league has been blessed with so many great players over the years, players who have not only won major trophies for their clubs but have won the hearts of the fans as well. There are many players who often catch the eye because of their reputation, like Eden Hazard, Wayne Rooney or Alexis Sanchez but these players had a big reputation running for them for a while. There are a few unsung heroes in each team which never get mentioned or talked about, slipping under the radar most of the time.

There are under rated players in each league and here is a list of 5 under rated players who are good players in their own right but for some reason they don’t get the same level of attention or credit as they deserve.

Mark Noble

The team of the season so far has to be West Ham United, sitting in 4th position in the table; they were 17th at this stage last season. They have changed their playing style a bit when compared to last season but one player who has stuck with the hammers throughout his playing career is Mark Noble.

The English midfielder is the vice-captain for the club and has played the most number of Premier League games in the club’s history; he has always been one of the best players at the club yet has often gotten overlooked by the likes of Andy Carroll or Dean Ashton at the club. Noble’s performances haven’t gone in vain this season with some corridors calling for a first England international cap for the player.

Kevin Mirallas

If you are asked to talk about the best Belgian players in the world, you would probably blurt out Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Vincent Kompany, Thibaut Courtois or Marouane Fellaini, alright Fellaini might be stretching it a bit but you certainly would not think that Mirallas is also a part of the golden generation of Belgian football.

Mirallas plays in the wings for Everton but is equally adept at playing as a striker, which he did in the entirety of his career at Lille. He is quick, has good ball control and can score spectacular goals and for some reason he just isn’t talked about enough with regards to the best players in the Premier League, it is a little baffling as to why he does not play for a bigger club, no disrespect meant to Everton.

Andre Schurrle

Germany have been blessed with so much talent that they could fill 4 teams with World class players. The Bundesliga has so much talent oozing out of it; it seems that a new brilliant player is found every weekend. Andre Schurrle was brilliant during his time for Bayer Leverkusen and switch to Chelsea blue a couple of seasons ago, yet the hard working German has never been seen in the same light as some of the other attackers at the club.

Oscar, Hazard, Costa even Willian are often talked about as to how they make a difference to the team but the German is just as important a clog as any, it is a shame that he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. Schurrle is a player who will run his heart out for the club and he has been doing the same for Chelsea all season.

Jack Colback

Colback surely must be hated at Sunderland; he was playing for the black cats last season before he switched to bitter rivals Newcastle this season. The hate hasn’t been transmitted to the Newcastle fans since he has put in some great performances for the club. He was excellent in their win over Chelsea just to prove how good he really is.

Colback can play in the middle of midfield but can also deputise as a left back if needed, his versatility is often overlooked but this youngster has a lot of talent and should be one to look out for.

Mile Jedinak

The Crystal Palace captain has been one of the most exceptional players ever since Crystal Palace were back in the Premier League. The team certainly isn’t gifted with stars but they all have players who will work hard and that is something that Jedinak is always doing.

The Aussie who only signed for palace in 2011 has won the fans over and was voted as the Player of the season at the club in 2012-2013 season, another telling fact for the 30 year old is that based on Opta stats, he was named as the best midfielder in the Premier League in the first 3 months of the current Premier League season.
