Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Diego Costa was one of the best strikers in the La Liga last season. He had scored 27 goals and stood at the third position in the top scorers’ chart behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Watching his impeccable performance, Jose Mourinho took a splendid decision to rope in the striker to Chelsea this season. Mourinho’s decision has done wonders for Chelsea so far in this season. Costa is currently placed steadily at the number one position in the goal scorers’ chart with 18 goals. If we carefully go through Costa’s performance we will see that the Spanish striker has scored the majority of his goals with his natural foot which is the right one. 5 goals have come of his weaker foot and 3 have come via header. Interestingly, none of his goals have come from the penalty spot. Scoring 18 goals in the season without a single penalty is a great achievement. Diego Costa is undoubtedly the best forward in the Premier League so far.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Sergio Aguero has been performing consistently for Manchester City in the Premier League for four seasons now. In 110 Premier League appearances the Argentine has scored 69 times for the Citizens. It is a unique feat on its own and Aguero deserves praise. The current season has been Aguero’s best in his entire Manchester city career. Aguero has hardly remained out of action due to any injury and has consistently guided City to glory. The striker has so far scored 17 goals and is just behind Diego Costa in the top scorers’ list. He has utilized his right foot 13 times while scoring and his left foot 4 times. Aerially, Aguero has always been weak and thus, he has not scored a single goal from header. He has been extremely disciplined which is reflected in his number of fouls committed in the season.

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspurs)

This English striker is the undoubtedly the find of the season for Tottenham Hotspur. Harry Kane has surprised everybody and performed exceptionally for the North London side. The 21-year-old striker has scored 16 goals for the club in this season’s Premier League and has remained the key striker in Tottenham’s starting lineup. Kane has scored 9 goals with his right foot and 3 with his left. He has also shown mastery in aerial ability and scored 4 goals using his head. He is undoubtedly one of the best performers in the Premier League this season. Roy Hodgson has got a fantastic option in his hand for the English national team. He is one for the future.

Charlie Austin (Queens Park Rangers)

Another English striker who has done exceptionally well in this season is Charlie Austin. He has scored 15 goals in this season and is just behind Harry Kane by 1 goal. Irrespective of Queens Park Rangers’ dismal show in the league this season, Austin has performed consistently and scored. He is the only bright thing in his clubs’ poor season. Austin has found the back of the net 10 times with his right foot and just twice with his weaker foot. His aerial ability is also commendable as 4 goals out of his total tally have come from headers. Charlie Austin is another option which Roy Hodgson gets for his national team squad. He is almost certain to leave his current club for a better opportunity next season.
