Leeds United had a pretty uneventful transfer deadline day as they failed to bring more players to the club.
With the window now closed, manager Marcelo Bielsa can only sanction departures from the club now, as the transfer windows across Europe are still open.
To that end, let’s take a look at three players who are likely to be moved on by the Whites to foreign clubs this summer.
Manager Bielsa hinted that the Japanese international isn’t a big part of his plans moving forward, and it will be no surprise if the midfielder is allowed to leave, on loan or on a permanent basis in the coming weeks. (Yorkshire Evening Post)
Ideguchi signed for Leeds in the January window, but was immediately shipped out on loan to Cultural Leonesa for the second half of the season. The 21-year-old failed to make much of a mark in Spain, which cost him a place in Japan’s squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. However, he has impressed the fans during the pre-season under the new manager.
The Japanese midfielder is yet to make his competitive debut for the Yorkshire-based outfit. But, as things stand, his departure this summer seems like a strong possibility.
Another January acquisition that just hasn’t worked out for Leeds, Belgian full-back Laurens De Bock is another strong candidate for an exit in the next few days.
Signed from Belgian outfit Club Brugge about six months ago, the left-back was never able to fully convince in his seven appearances in the EFL Championship in the second half of last season. With Leeds bringing in Barry Douglas this summer and the young Tom Pearce staking a claim for a regular berth, De Bock’s first-team opportunities seem extremely bleak.
A move away from Leeds could be the best option for the defender.
Arriving from Juventus last summer on a four-year deal, the versatile defensive midfielder was immediately farmed out on loan to Cultural Leonesa for the rest of the season. However, the Spanish outfit released the player just six months into the season, after he failed to make an impression.

Having returned to the club in January, the Moroccan didn’t get any minutes under both Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom. While he did train with the first-team during the pre-season, the 25-year old hasn’t been given a squad number by the club, which provides a stark indication of his standing within the team. A summer exit is a good possibility.
