Three Wingers Who Could Add Flair To Manchester City’s Attack Including This Bundesliga Star

Arsenal fans, who have witnessed their first finish outside top four for the first time in 20 years, are currently sweating over the future of their prized asset Alexis Sanchez who hasn’t signed a new deal yet. His contract runs down next summer and the Chilean international, who is now focusing on the FIFA Confederations Cup, is open to a move for greater glory, with the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich expressing their desire to bring the attacker in.

Sanchez, 28, netted 30 times last season in all competitions and might reunite with former boss Pep Guardiola who recruited him for Barcelona. However, City, who have already spent big this summer to acquire Bernardo Silva and Ederson Moraes, brought in exciting young talents in the form of John Stones, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus during the previous campaign and can explore the market once more for such highly-rated prodigies who have earned loads of attention and admiration in Europe for their masterly display.

We have chosen three such stars who can add flair to City’s attack, instead of Alexis Sanchez.

Thomas Lemar

Country: France

Age: 21

Current Club: AS Monaco FC

The Frenchman, who had a highly impressive league winning campaign with French Ligue1 outfit Monaco, is currently being monitored by North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. The 21-year old attacker has represented his nation in several youth ranks and also appeared 5 times for the senior side. Lemar enjoyed an imposing season in both Ligue1 and UEFA Champions League competition as he netted 11 and assisted 14 times in 46 appearances. He usually operates from the left wing but can also be used on the right flank, or as an attacking midfielder. Lemar has strong set-piece skills, good sense of passing and crossing, dribbles well and loves to cut inside. He can be a lethal option upfront who will flourish under Pep and provide competition to both Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling.

Ousmane Dembele

Country: France

Age: 20

Current Club: Borussia Dortmund

Dembele was signed from French outfit Rennes by Borussia Dortmund last summer. The French U21 as well as senior international had a blistering campaign with the Bundesliga giants as he appeared 47 times altogether with 10 goals and 18 assists in the process. Dembele, predominantly a right winger, is also comfortable in playing on the left flank, as a second striker, or as an attacking midfielder. His versatility along with strong dribbling, passing and set-pieces skill have made him a major transfer target of many big clubs around Europe. City must join the race for the prodigy who can serve them for a long term.

Yannick Carrasco

Country: Belgium

Age: 23

Current Club: Atletico Madrid

The Belgian international has flourished under Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone in his two-year spell with Los Rojiblancos since his move from AS Monaco back in 2015. Carrasco, who usually operates from the left flank, can also play as a second striker or as a right winger. He has netted 14 times and has assisted 4 in 53 appearances altogether for the La Liga heavyweights this term.

He loves to dribble, cut inside, do layoffs and take long shots with a vision of passing and creating chances. Atletico, however, received a transfer ban and are not expected to sell their players until January. But everyone has a price and Pep’s City must try and use their financial might to sign the highly rated Belgian.
