Three Reasons Why The Arsenal Fans Were Right To Display The ‘Wenger Out’ Banner In An Away Match

Share

The ‘Wenger Out banner’ and also the booing that was done on Arene Wenger’s face at the train station in Stoke has been the topic of many an intense discussions between the Arsenal fans. No matter which side of the debate you are on (AKB or WOB), if you are an Arsenal fan you simply have to have an opinion. Here is our take on the entire matter of whether it was right on the part of a section of the Arsenal fans to display the ‘Wenger Out’ banner in an away match.

1) Did you know that Arsenal fans are not allowed to display any anti Arsene Wenger banner inside the Emirates Stadium:

I will bet that many of the Arsenal fans not from the UK did not know that Arsenal fans are not allowed to carry anything inside the Emirates Stadium which even closely resembles a protest against Arsene Wenger. While the club will justify their stand no doubt, but the fact that the club has to go to such extreme measures to curb protests must mean something is wrong. Curbing free speech should never be the way and Arsenal seems to be doing just that. So if not at the away stands, then where exactly are the Arsenal fans supposed to make their feelings heard?

2) Arsene Wenger can no longer see the obvious:

There cannot be any doubt that Arsene Wenger is a top class manager. However some of his decisions in the recent seasons have been nothing short of baffling. Not getting a centre back this season after letting Vermaelen leave for Arsenal or not getting a striker in the January window last season where  just a striker might have seen Arsenal doing the double. When does it get enough for the fans to say that the mistakes are getting repeated too many times. Many at the club feel he is lo longer up for the job; no matter what a brilliant manager he was, he is just not looking in touch with the ground realities.

3) Not in touch with ground realities:

This is more of an elaboration on the second point. All of Arsene Wenger’s greatest achievement came in the early part of his Arsenal career, which definitely rises the question, is he still the man for the job? While Arsene Wenger definitely has his fans, a growing section of fans have fallen out of love with the Le. Professor. The main reason being that he longer seems to be in touch with the ground realities. Now teams like Chelsea and Manchester City have just bought themselves a stable championship winning team. No matter how Arsene Wenger presents it, his team always seems to lack that spine. Maybe it is time for Arsene Wenger to hand over the reigns to a younger man who will come in with a fresh perspective.
