Three Reasons Why Chelsea Should Axe This Defender And Ship Him To Everton

Share

Everton have been taking advantage of good players who don’t have any role in their current teams, but the Toffees have won a lot of referents due to this. We witnessed how they “rescued” Romelu Lukaku from being forgotten by Chelsea, and now Romelu is one of the best strikers not only in England but overseas. With this policy, Everton have made good things, and they’re reportedly interested in making a new one.

After failing to acquire the very talented midfielder Memphis Depay from Manchester United, Everton are ready to keep signing important players in order to make press on the closest team in their Premier League table. That’s why Ronald Koeman is doing everything he can to bring valuable players to the Goodison Park and make his team can be a real contender in Premier, at least to reach European competitions.

In recent days we’ve heard rumours about Everton wishing to sign a good player who is not going through his best moments currently, but despite that Koeman wants this player in his squad. We’re talking about Branislav Ivanovic, a player who still has the quality but is not seeing the amount of minutes he’d like to see in Chelsea. And now the reports are suggesting that the Chelsea defender is in line to replace Phil Jagielka, who is set to leave the club after almost ten years of service at Goodison Park.

Koeman can easily take advantage of that situation and bring Ivanovic to his squad, but there are still people who think Ivanovic can have a successful journey playing in Stamford Bridge, regardless what Antonio Conte says about the Serbian defender. Now he counts with some pretenders, such as Everton and Crystal Palace at some point of the season, so, we are going to expose three reasons why Chelsea should sell their long-serving player to Everton.

Ivanovic is not the player he used to be

Branislav used to be one of the best players in his position, but the time has passed and he is not the same we were used to see. Chelsea should take advantage of that and sell the Serbian right-back cum centre back as soon as possible if they want to gain a little bit of money from Ivanovic. Due to his current shape, and seeing the one from Chelsea starting defenders, he doesn’t have any chance to make it in the Blues.

He is a waste of time now

Correct. However Ivanovic brought a lot of joy and happiness to the Bridge, right now, Chelsea doesn’t need him and is probable that they won’t need him in the future, so even when money is not a problem for Chelsea, they could get a decent amount of capital by selling  the veteran either to Everton or any other team.

He can have a decent run at Merseyside

Yes, Ivanovic is not the player he used to be but he still has the quality and the talent and even if Koeman does not use him a lot, he can serve as a mentor for younger players in Everton. Branislav has been a successful player and knows the Premier League, hence he surely will have things to teach to Everton youngsters or even demonstrate it on the pitch.
