Dimitri Payet – Here Are 3 Possible Clubs The West Ham Attacker Should Consider Moving

Share

The future of France international and West Ham attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet, at the London club continues to be in doubt following their poor start to the season, and recent revelations would see suitors start preparing offers soon.

According to reports, a special clause inserted into the Frenchman’s contract says he is available to depart West Ham for just £15million if the club gets relegated, and that is very much a possibility given that Bilic’s side are 17th on the table after 15 Premier League games.

Peradventure, the Hammers don’t get to escape the drop come May, here are 3 Premier League clubs Payet can move on to.

Arsenal

The Gunners will be a perfect fit for the 29-year-old, and the prospects of having him alongside Ozil and Sanchez would definitely entice Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal faithful.

At a time when Alexis has vacated the left wing for the centre-forward position, Payet will be the perfect fit for the position. His style of play fits Arsenal’s, as he is also good on the counter just as much he is with playing the waiting game.

Besides, Arsenal do not have a freekick specialist. While Ozil is also a very good player with the dead balls, he isn’t one who scores directly from them. Payet does, and that will add to their attacking firepower.

The £15million conditional buyout clause is just perfect for Wenger too. Nobody can be more shrewd and astute like the French tactician when it comes to such businesses.

Manchester United

Manchester United will even be willing to pay through their nose to land Payet, and the opportunity to link up with national teammate Pogba is also another factor that could interest the West Ham forward.

Manchester United are short of quality options for the left wing of their attack, with Martial, Rashford, Depay and Lingard all battling with bouts of inconsistency this season.

His lack of defensive contributions could, however, be a problem. But financially, an Old Trafford switch should make sense, as the Red Devils sure can pay more than the £125,000 a week he currently earns at West Ham after he put pen to paper for a new five-and-a-half-year contract in February.

Manchester City

The Etihad is also a place Dimitri Payet could flourish, and Guardiola sure can do with quality wingers next summer.

Sane, Nolito and Sterling have been underwhelming thus far, and Manchester City have also suffered from the lack of depth on the wings. With Gabriel Jesus’ arrival come the turn of the year, that problem might get solved.

However, the Brazilian whizkid might also take time to adapt to the EPL game, or might be preferred to play in his primary role as a centre forward.

Either way, Payet brings experience and quality to Guardiola’s side, and combining with De Bruyne in the attack could be devastating for opponents.

The best way to find out if he is a big club player is to move to one. But going by his performances in the star-studded French team at the European Championships, Payet should be able to live up to the billings at any of the aforementioned clubs.
