Three Players who are destined to leave the Premier League this January Transfer Window

With the January Transfer Window imminent in about a month’s time, the rumor mill has already linked many players who are more than willing to join the English Premier League. While majority of the rumors have been thrash talk, stories have been made to attract the big names and the fiscal ramifications which come along. But looking on the other side of the story, there will be handful of players who might be on the verge of leaving their current club in the Premier League in search of more game time. So we here at Soccersouls have picked three players who are destined to leave the world’s most exciting league come this January Transfer Window.

Jermain Defoe:

If reports according to major tabloids are to be believed, then going by what Daily Mirror has to say, Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe has reported agreed a move to MLS side Toronto FC. Ever since David Beckham’s whooping transfer to LA Galaxy, the MLS has always attracted the biggest of names albeit what I call pre-retirement scheme. Defoe’s transfer too looks to be on the same page. At 31, would Defoe will be able to spark that source of inspiration that Toronto need to have a successful 2014 campaign. Ever since the arrival of Roberto Soldado from Valencia, Defoe has been relegated to the bench thus having limited game time. Hence Defoe might be just right for a move to lay acclaim his World Cup credentials for England, next year in Brazil, but will his age permit?

Juan Mata:

I am always heavy hearted when Mata isn’t even named in the reserve bench when Chelsea take the field be it at the glittering Stamford Bridge or when they travel away from home. Jose Mourinho inexplicably has dropped the Spanish sensation, citing Brazilian Oscar is a better choice at the number ten role. Oscar too deserves the plaudit, having been absolutely sublime in the centre of attack linking well with the lone striker up front and also finding the back of the net at regular occasions. Football is a cruel game sometimes, given your best creative player for the last two seasons isn’t even playing. If rumors are to believed French side PSG are ready to splash the cash for Mata, who would also look out for a move for more time on the pitch ahead of the showcase World Cup next year in Sambaland.

Mata to leave Chelsea?

Emanuel Adebayor:

Another Spurs man on the list and Defoe’s team mate Togolese Emanuel Adebayor is also certain to move ahead under the exit sign at White Hart Lane. Adebayor, who has hardly played this campaign, recently claimed that Manager Andre Villas Boas had turned his life into hell and he had never felt so low in his entire career. While it is almost certain that Tottenham is on the lookout for an out  an out striker in January, Villas Boas almost seems to have confirmed that he will fund the price with Adebayor’s sale. Where the Togolese next moves is an entirely different question, however one thing is for certain that come January, Adebayor would be in the history books of the Premier League.
