Three managers who West Brom should target as Moore’s replacement including this young German gaffer

West Brom opinion: Three managers Baggies can target including Allardyce

West Bromwich Albion have sacked manager Darren Moore, due to inconsistency in form and results (Guardian). This decision is surprising, with the Baggies currently sitting well within a promotion playoff spot at 4th place in the Championship.

While there are issues with the club and they’ll have to spend heavily to patch up the holes, Moore had still done a relatively good job. But all that said and done, the Baggies need to look forward to the future and start the search for Moore’s permanent replacement.

It will have to be someone who can lead them into the future and more so, back into the Premier League, finishing the Championship season on a high.

Here are three managers who they should target:

1) Sam Allardyce

If there is one manager who can lead West Brom back into the Premier League, it’s big Sam Allardyce, especially given the fact that he has done it before.

While the former England manager is considered to be a relegation specialist, he’s had great success in the past in the Championship with Bolton Wanderers.

While they were relegated before he could make an impact, Allardyce made sure that Bolton got back into the Premier League and did it with style. If West Brom have a chance to get him, they should.

2) David Wagner

Wagner and Huddersfield Town were an incredible fairytale in their first season in the Premier League, as the former Borussia Dortmund U21 coach led them successfully.

Not only did they live to survive another season but Wagner won plaudits for his style of play. While his second season may have ended in disaster, it won’t be held against him.

The 47-year-old, like the ones on this list, did wonderfully in the Championship, with Huddersfield Town finishing 5th in the Championship. However, it was in the playoff finals that the club really flourished, winning the finals after a hard-fought game.

That combined with West Brom’s current position makes David Wagner the perfect choice but there is one better than him.

3) Slavisa Jokanovic

Jokanovic did the impossible with Fulham last season, leading them back into the Premier League and in style. Not only did the Cottagers flourish under his tutelage but they engineered a consistent run of wins that eventually helped them into the Premier League.

While his tenure in England’s top-flight wasn’t the best, the 50 year old remains a top manager.

For West Brom, however, he is the perfect man to lead them into the future. Not only does he have a proven record in the Championship but it makes the transition much easier. With 10 games to go, West Brom need someone who can lead them into the future.

That someone should be Slavisa Jokanovic given the former Watford boss’ CV and his recent history.
