Tom Davies
Not many would have heard of the teenager Tom Davies, but all that changed on Sunday afternoon, when the 18-year old gunned down Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City with an exhilarating display for Everton in the middle of the park at the Goodison Park.
The youngster outplayed one of the most expensive midfields in club football with his sheer energy and determination. Davies started off the move for the first goal for the Toffees, sliding in a lovely ball for Ross Barkley who squared it for Romelu Lukaku to score. Then the 18-year old made a crucial clearance off the goal line to deny Bacary Sagna and City the equalizer before capping off the excellent night with a wonderful chipped effort over Claudio Bravo to score his first-ever goal for Everton and their third on the night.
The sight of the Davies sending Yaya Toure off course with a neat flick and then evading his attempted tackle on the way to his goal was a sight to rejoice and Everton fans will be hoping for many more similar displays from their latest teen sensation.
