Another week of Premier League action breezed past us this weekend and boy was it eventful! Everton completely dismantled Manchester City in their 4-0 annihilation of the Citizens at the Goodison Park, while Chelsea bounced back from their defeat to Tottenham in style, defeating last year’s champion Leicester City 3-0. Spurs continued their excellent run of games with a 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, while the fans were treated to a thrilling encounter at the Old Trafford between Manchester United and Liverpool that ended in a one-all draw.

Stoke City and West Ham United also chalked up impressive wins over Sunderland and Crystal Palace respectively, while Burnley continued their excellent home form with a 1-0 triumph over Southampton. Strugglers Hull City surprised Bournemouth with a 3-1 win in what was new manager Marco Silva’s first Premier League game in-charge. Another manager who made a bow this past weekend, Paul Clement did not enjoy a similar success as his Swansea City were thrashed 4-0 by Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium.

In what was an exciting week of football, filled with some scintillating individual performances, we pick out the top three performers of the week:

Harry Kane

The English striker was in hot form on Saturday as he laid siege upon the West Brom defence to take home the match ball.

Kane started the game with an easy miss four minutes into the game, but did not repeat his mistake after being teed up by Christian Eriksen to open the score for his team in the 12th minute. He kept the pressure on the Baggies’ defence and if not for an inspired Ben Foster in goal, Kane would have added more goals to his name. However, he did manage to beat Foster in the 77th minute with an emphatic volley from Kyle Walker’s cross, before completing his treble after slick play between him and Dele Alli, five minutes later.

Kane now has 13 goals in the Premier League, just one goal behind the leader Zlatan Ibrahimović and if the current form is anything to go by, the Englishman is going to score plenty more.
