According to English news outlet the Express and Star, Leeds United are interested in a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Helder Costa. The report further adds that the Whites are looking for reinforcements and believe that the 25-year-old star is their man.
It further adds that while Leeds are keen on a move, it will only be a loan move and not a permanent deal. This does allow Wolves to get a name of their books, as they look to add a few stars to be able to battle for the Europa League next season.
Nuno Espirito Santo and his men finished the season with the final Europa League spot and it gives them a chance to prove themselves even more. However, for someone like Helder Costa, who hasn’t featured much this season, it gives him a chance to find himself once again.
The focus is on Leeds United and if Marcelo Bielsa wants to try and win the Championship again, he needs the 25-year-old. Their biggest issue this season, other than consistency towards the end of the season was a lack of wide attackers.
Things got so bad for Bielsa that he often had to use the very young Jack Clarke. While the 18-year-old did do well whenever called upon, that’s a situation that no manager ever wants to have.
It’s why the move for Helder Costa makes so much sense, especially with the Whites looking to find their way back into the Premier League.
The 25-year-old has, as mentioned above, struggled to find his way into Nuno Espirito Santo’s team in the Premier League but had no problem in the Championship. In fact, he was arguably one of their best players in the lower leagues, contributing to 29 goals, which included 14 assists.
That’s a good total and one that should interest Leeds. They need players like Costa in their side and his pace, combined with the aforementioned creative vision, will prove to be a big help in the near future.
Not only that, with Pablo Hernandez not getting any younger and Jack Clarke still in his teens, Bielsa needs someone with the experience and ability that Helder Costa has.

Leeds United have a team to challenge for the Championship title but they need a few additions before they can go all the way. Even as a loan move, Helder Costa would be a great addition and his ability will be a definite plus for the club.
